How should we buy on the internet? How do we make sure we do not buy something we are going to regret?
As online shopping starts to become the new norm, many security risks are there as many websites lure you into buying items that are supposedly cheap. Sure, buying items for less money is better; however, there is always a catch. Sometimes it’s injecting the computer with malware, and other times (most of the time actually) it’s usually some clothing that looked way different than what was originally advertised. I have experienced this in the past, and the website was not sketchy whatsoever. Yes that is right, I ordered something off of Amazon and I definitely did not get what I ordered. This happened right before my prom when I was shopping for a last minute dress. I found one dress which I thought was perfect, it looked really good online. However, when I got the dress, it looked like a top with a frumpy skirt. Luckily there was a return policy on the dress. The main takeaway is to always look at the comments to determine what the reviews are and always look for a return policy. For even a distinguished website like Amazon, there are always items which are nothing like how they were originally portrayed. Try to look for sellers from the company itself rather than third party. Numerous horror stories have happened regarding prom dresses, and again the same advice would apply. Do some research into whether or not these sites are legitimate and look for reviews on the website so next time you shop online, you are getting the real deal and not infecting your computer.
